HISTORY OF THE AUSTRALIAN MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM

Motorcycles formed a very important part of Australia's transport history, as they provided relatively inexpensive method of motor transport. Fifty years ago, for many Australians their introduction to the roads was by way of the motorcycle.

Brian and Margaret Kelleher have been motorcycle enthusiasts for decades and developed their passionate interest in the sport as members of the motorcycle industry.... read more

DONATIONS & LOANS
The museum is an organisation funded by the Kelleher family, donations, and volunteer labour. Many of the motorcycles on display are on loan to the museum, and we seek old and unusual bikes either unrestored or restored for display.

It is better to have the bike cleaned and dusted regularly than to have it sit in a shed somewhere where no one can see it. Loaned bikes may have a sign placed near them identifying and thanking the person who has loaned the machine. Bikes may be placed on long or short term loan, and may be removed by the owner at any time. If you have a machine that you think you would like to have on display please contact us.

We have an extensive library of motorcycle books and magazines, and are looking for donations of any old motorcycling literature. Items of particular interest will be restored, if necessary, and the donor's name and thankyou notice placed inside the front cover.

If you are able to assist us preserve Australia's motorcycling heritage, please contact us
